TGIF gang!
Big day for us tomorrow, we will officially be kicking off our 7th Year!
Dang, we've come a long way from our very first run (photo). Fortunately though, it kinda still feels the same. Thank you to everyone that's helped us to keep things going and for all of you who continue to show up on your valuable Saturday mornings. If we never brought in some Captains to help deal with logistics and keeping things organized, we would definitely have retired years ago so a big thank you to Kim, Paolo, Felipe and Patty. Thank you to Moziah for being around on Saturday to help lug everyone's belongings around, Kiyo and Izakaya Juraku for keeping our bodies and bellies warm during the winter months. Thank you Caedryn, for seeing something in OMRC very early on and swooping in to help make sure that whatever it is that we do, that it's done exactly how we envision it. Thank you Bru for bringing us into the Oakley fam and giving us license to be who we are all the time. We are truly blessed to be a part of this Global Running Community, and we'll be looking to make this upcoming year an even greater one filled with more special moments that we can all look back on!
To kick things off tomorrow, we'll be back at our winter home base, Izakaya Juraku. We're pushing back the meet up and start time as well - so we'll be getting up from 9:10am or so and the run will start @ 9:30. To celebrate our Anniversary, we'll be running at a very chill pace for our 8.5 mile route and we should be finishing up right when Juraku open up their kitchen at 11. We say this all the time but if you haven't tried their loaded fries, why even show up to run! Keep the racing kicks and Alphaflys home for this one, this is going to be a classic old man shuffle with plenty of stops for group flicks to celebrate the occasion. We also encourage people to hang out for a bit post run and not splinter off cause after all, we're celebrating all of us!
For all of you who have placed orders for merch and have selected to pick up on a Saturday run, please do let us know if you're NOT going to be there this weekend so that we don't need to lug around things for no reason.
