What's up everyone!
As many of you know, there will be a 5K run w. Nike to celebrate IWD. Please click on their socials to find out more about it if you're interested! We're sure it'll be a good fun way to start your morning if you're looking to do something a little lighter and also help celebrate all women with this run.
For those wanting to go a little longer, well that's what we're here for!
Not sure how many of you actually read this and we will get into this more at a later date, but we really need some of you to learn how to run these streets. This club as you see, is only getting bigger and it's becoming very difficult to manage. We don't want to take any drastic measures but as long as all of you cooperate and conduct yourselves as adults (remember, we're called Old (Wo)Man Run Club) we should be fine. The streets, sidewalks and bridges are there to be shared with other runners, cyclists, pedestrians and TWICE last week some people almost ran over parents pushing a baby carriage. As parents, this really hit a chord and this shit has gotta stop. Guys, our Saturday runs are not a race, it's a group social run. We're also in one of the busiest cities in the world you gotta keep your eyes open and pay attention to your surroundings, you don't need us telling you that do you? For those that want to go fast, well there are plenty of people that run w us on Saturday and then go out for their proper training long runs on Sundays. We think that's a great approach and helps keep OMRC true to our original intentions. Safety though, is a HUGE concern of ours right now and sooner or later if people can't listen we're going to have to start asking people to not come back. It's pretty easy for us.
Again, we'll make sure you guys are all aware of what our expectations in another week or two but practicing safety must start immediately if you're going to continue to run with OMRC.
Our route for this Saturday will take us through the BK Piers and should have a little less traffic as some people will be out of town. We'll be starting at Juraku since it's still a bit chilly outside.
Run specifics down below as per usual.
Thank you to anyone that's read and HEARD what we've had to say here.
Peace, OMRC
